In recent years, many have known us as Movies Change People—a public-facing brand reflecting our core belief that movies change people, and people change the world. But as we move into this next chapter, we’re returning to our roots with the Heritage Films name, with a fresh mission that expresses our dedication to storytelling and community.
We’re all about connecting people through stories. For 20 years, we’ve believed in the power of film to bring people together and create a sense of belonging, even as content becomes more fleeting and commodified. Our CEO, Rod Hopping, recorded the video below unpack our history and why storytelling is our passion and purpose.
The journey of sharing stories on film began by shipping DVDs from a small warehouse, and today we continue to seek out stories that nourish, surprise, and inspire. Technology changes, but our shared humanity doesn’t—and sharing stories is a beautiful part of that.
Our refined mission statement is simple: Every frame is for you, because you are the heartbeat of this narrative, and together we can make the world a more beautiful place. This statement reflects who we are, what we do, and why we do it. Every film we bring to you is chosen to inspire, connect, and change perspectives.
