Formerly Movies Change People

Gabriel is a chaotic young rock drummer desperate to hide his recent Bipolar diagnosis from his increasingly exasperated band mates. At the therapeutic mixed-ability football game he’s obliged to attend as part of treatment Gabriel is spectacularly upended by goalkeeper Christopher, an institutionalised 17-year-old with Asperger's Syndrome. Having taken violent revenge, Gabriel faces expulsion unless he “makes friends” with Christopher. When the isolated and socially-inept young goalkeeper takes this grudging offer of friendship literally, Gabriel finds his secrets threatened by an embarrassingly eager and dangerously tactless new disciple.

What people are saying

It's so captivating, funny, real, true to life with an emotional build in it that you cannot fail to connect with & be drawn into. I really could not recommend this film more. Go and watch it, you won't regret it.

@patrickconwaylufc

What a beautiful, heart-warming, poignant and funny gem of a film. It is very clear that the filmmaker knows his subject well. This sincerity shines through the laughter and the tears.

@miriaming

Kelly is fearless in the way he tackles mental illness and his command of comic tone is strong, making this film anything but the traumatic experience it may appear on paper and more like a gentle romcom between two odd and lonely souls.
